Postnatal Support Services
Our Postnatal support services offer one-to-one support, provided in the comfort and privacy of your own home.
This tailored service aims to provide you with relevant information, emotional support and guidance in the early days and weeks following birth as you adjust to life with a new baby.
Our priority is to ensure that you feel cared for, nurtured and well informed. We are here to help and support you throughout this time. This includes listening to you without judgement or criticism.
NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) guidance says: ‘Postnatal care should go further than meeting immediate physical needs; it is ‘also about empowering the mother to care for her baby and herself in order to promote their longer term physiological and emotional well-being’.
We recognise that fathers support and information needs are just as important. They can provide a major contribution to the family through sharing childcare and supporting their partner.
Our appointments are women and baby-centred and father-friendly, allowing time to raise questions about caring for a baby. Our packages are designed for women and their partners who feel they would like to have additional support alongside NHS care. This service does not replace the standard Postnatal service provided by your NHS healthcare professionals. We do not provide medical advice or physical care but can direct you to the appropriate services if required.
We also provide breast feeding support if this is what you choose to do. Learning new skills can be challenging and it can take time to feel confident feeding your baby.
Our appointments are unhurried and offer up to 90 minutes of dedicated support. They are scheduled for a time which is practical and convenient.
We offer a free telephone consultation or appointment to discuss your specific needs and requirements.
Please contact us to discuss your individual needs and how we can help you.
